Be careful what you set your heart on…

A couple of days ago, I was chatting with an acquaintance who quoted the words below from Emerson, which prompted a very lively discussion on the underlying message.

We have all heard so many variations of this idea … Be careful what you dream, be careful what you wish for, etc.

For me, Emerson’s quote is a very positive message on the importance of clarity, of positive thinking, the power of manifestation (when we are in alignment with Spirit) and of seeking outcomes that are in our highest and best interest.

But the filter through which we see the world is also very powerful… If we see the world through fear, as a cruel and heartless place, it will be. If we see the world through love, as full of possibility and joy, it will be. To quote Henry Ford,

“If you think you can do a thing or think you can’t do a thing, you’re right.”

So, really, it’s up to you!!!

What do YOU think?

“Be careful what you set your heart on, for it will surely be yours.”

~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
