A Solstice Blessing for you on Day 1 of the Twelve Days of Solstice.
On this first day of Solstice, our ancestors celebrated the return of the Sun with feasts, music and art, rituals, greenery, camaraderie and – most importantly – symbols of the Sun such as bonfires and candles.
On this 1st day of Solstice, I share this blessing with you:
In the darkness, the sun shines bright,
illuminating the land with its fertile light.
Winter’s still here and cold days will come,
but summers won’t be long with the growing sun.
