Does this path have a heart?

imageAs we travel our life’s path, the road can sometimes be shrouded in fog or confusion. At times, a crossroad may appear in our path… a fork in the road… Perhaps we can’t even see where the path begins. We definitely can’t see where it ends.

At these times, you might find yourself stuck in analysis/paralysis, deliberating endlessly about how and where to start, or which way to turn. We may get caught up in “FOMO” thinking – the fear of missing out on something even better.

When we are locked in analysis, we are also likely using only our conscious mind and often from a place of fear:
“What if I take the WRONG step?”
“What if I DISAPPOINT people by my choice?”
“What if I fail at…..?”
“What if I succeed at….?”
“What if……?”

Guess what… Life is not about knowing all the answers. Life is about learning. Taking risk. Dreaming. Growing. Experiencing. Trying. Failing. Succeeding. Doing. Making mistakes and -hopefully – learning from them.

Know that it is important to take a step – any step – and then to listen to and start trusting your Heart and your Wise Self as you move forward.

They may tell you, “yes, this is the way” or maybe even “well, that was a valuable experience! Now for something completely different …..”

Do SOME thing rather than NO thing.

If doubt persists, here is a simple way to guide your choice, from the writings of Carlos Castanada:

Look at every path closely and deliberately, then ask ourselves this crucial question:
✨ Does this path have a heart?

If it does, then the path is good.
If it doesn’t, it is of no use.
