This week I have been so grateful for the support our family has received from near and far, on the loss of a dear cousin.
As the tributes and condolences were shared – some private, some in social media and some in the press – more and more emerged about his love for his family, his acts of kindness, unconditional friendship, generosity, quiet support, his laughter and humour, and more.
Many of these people I didn’t know – most of them live in other countries – yet we were all connected through the vibrancy and life force that my cousin brought to this world.
And so today I reflect on the threads that connect us…. how the good things that we do ripple throughout the world… how we are connected energetically to each other in the network of life.
Never doubt the worth of anything you do for someone else, no matter how big or small… a smile to a harried bus driver… helping a stranger… volunteering at a local charity… and just being you. This makes a difference and can change someone’s life.
What will you do today to mindfully support this great web of life?
“Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves. All things are bound together. All things connect.”
~ Chief Seattle (1780 – 1866)
