In our busy lives, it’s important to create balance … taking time for quiet or solitude, for rest or meditation, to renew our connection to Source, to sustain our energies.
Some do this by observing the Sabbath… For others, it’s staying at home but surrounded by Nature, as in these words from poet Emily Dickinson.
“Some keep the Sabbath going to Church –
I keep it, staying at Home –
With a Bobolink for a Chorister –
And an Orchard, for a Dome”
I find my renewal and inspiration in Nature — a walk in the woods… a stroll on the shoreline… connecting to the elements of Earth and Water… and entraining with the rhythms of Nature as she moves through her cycles of rest, birth, growth and release.
How do you rest and renew?
And if you don’t, what can you do to start bringing balance and renewal back into your life?
