What does creativity mean in your life? How does it manifest?
Often, when I am working with clients — or talking with friends — I hear folks denigrate their own creative abilities…. denying that they have them… feeling hemmed in by traditional definitions of creativity…. afraid to consider that they might be creative at all.
I too was like that, not recognizing or acknowledging my own creativity, because in the traditional schooling and education I had, my type of creativity did not have a chance to be uncovered. And, more importantly, I hadn’t yet learned to question the conventional definitions.
It wasn’t until years later that I discovered creativity is not just painting, drawing, sculpting, writing, composing…. it is creating beauty, it is working with other art forms, it is creating something that causes us to think, to imagine, to see a new perspective… and creativity can manifest in oh so many different ways.
