Moonday Musings

MoonDay Musings:

Is there anything more precious than freedom of thought? Or the ability to think, evaluate, analyze, question, probe…?

As Voltaire said, “Dare to think for yourself.”

The work that we do and the beliefs that we hold — especially those of us who follow earth-based spirituality or work in alternative health or other “woo woo” modalities — are often misjudged or misunderstood.

But do not let that constrain you. Trust and follow your heart and your passion. Free your mind and be open to the possibility that there IS magick and amazement and wonder and beauty beyond your current dreams and thoughts or the judgmental beliefs of others.

And be skeptical. Do not accept blindly all that is put forward as Truth by others. Many of those “truths” are beliefs in disguise, and many serve to divide, oppress and inhibit — especially in this era of “fake news” and carefully curated “alternate facts” — rather than elevate or expand humanity.

Maybe Virginia Woolf summarized it best, in the classic “A Room of One’s Own”:

Lock up your libraries if you like; but there is no gate, no lock, no bolt that you can set upon the freedom of my mind.
